It’s a tough day for sports fans all over the country, as one of the most beloved faces of sports at ESPN has tragically passed away at the age of 41.
Zach Jones, who lost a battle with cancer, was a longtime host of Sportscdnter and was with ESPN. for 14 years in the Stats & info department, which contributed to things such as SportsCenter’s coverage of football, along with other sports. SportsCenter host Kevin Negandhi shared the sad news of his colleague’s death on Twitter early Monday.
“May you rest in peace Zach. A devoted dad who loved golf, the Chargers and his family. He was a fantastic researcher and had the perfect demeanor for TV. He will be missed by so many. Sending all of our love to his wife, son and their family. [Expletive] cancer.”

“Zach was the best. The original fantasy football researcher who handled a ridiculous volume of work with a smile and no complaints. He was as good a human as it gets. Cancer Sucks!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Thank you for sharing. An amazing person, dad, husband, co-worker. Prayers and best wishes to his family during this difficult time,” another fan added.
“Very sad. My condolences to his family and friends,” one fan added.
“One of the nicest people you’ll ever meet,” chimed in another person.
Hopefully, Jones’ family gets the time and privacy they need to heal.
