Talk about a rough day for Real Betis defender Paulao. In a recent game against Vallecano, Paulao not only committed a brutal turnover that gifted a goal to the opposing squad, he also then proceeded to accidentally score on his own net as well.
Apparently, Paulao doesn’t deal well with misfortune, as he completely broke down following the own goal. Players from both sides attempted to console Paulao, but the defender requested to be taken off as he fought back tears. Those tears came eventually, though, as Paulao began to sob uncontrollably as soon as he got to the bench.
To make matters worse, Real Betis is facing inevitable relegation from La Liga after a miserable season. That’s the kind of stuff that happens when you giftwrap goals for opponents, I guess.
