United States Women’s National Team legend Megan Rapinoe refused to answer a question about transgender athletes as she rode in a car during a Pride Month celebration in Seattle.
During the parade, Katie Daviscourt of The Post Millennial walked by the side of the car holding Megan Rapinoe and asked the USWNT star her thoughts on transgender women competing in women’s sports.
“Your U.S. women’s soccer team famously lost to high school boys. Do you really think it’s fair for these same boys to be competing in girls’ sports?” Daviscourt asked.
Rapinoe did not reply to the question as she instead sighed and mouthed “Oh my God” before taking a sip of her drink. A security guard quickly came in between Rapinoe and the reporter.

“Why should trans people compete against young girls? Do you not think that they’re gonna get hurt? Are they gonna get hurt? I’m a journalist, I just wanna know,” Daviscourt added.
Rapinoe’s refusal to discuss the issue likely came down to the time and place as she has previously made it very clear that she does support transgender women competing in women’s sports.
“Absolutely,” Rapinoe said earlier this year. “‘You’re taking a ‘real’ woman’s place,’ that’s the part of the argument that’s still extremely transphobic. I see trans women as real women. What you’re saying automatically in the argument – you’re sort of telling on yourself already – is you don’t believe these people are women. Therefore, they’re taking the other spot. I don’t feel that way.”
Still, it’s clear that she did not give the reporter what she wanted.
