This bizarre video comes from the championship game of a recent amateur soccer tournament in Italy, where one player decided he would celebrate his big goal by running over to his team’s bench area and headbutting through the plexiglass covering. It was pretty inexplicable and outrageous, and the kid’s teammates seemed just as confused as I was seeing the whole thing unfold.
The crowd didn’t exactly seem to appreciate the celebration….and neither did the head referee, who promptly presented the goal-scorer with a red card to end his day on the pitch. What a dope.
