Lionel Messi is a pretty good soccer player. He’s won the FIFA Ballon d’Or award four times (given annually to the top soccer player in the world). He’s also won the UEFA Champions League as a member of Barcelona and he has achieved numerous individual accolades.
So how much is he worth? Well, according to Barcelona President Sandro Rosell, about €580 million, which translates to $770 million.
From an interview with the Spanish Sport:
“All players who want to leave can leave, all but Messi. Should give Leo 250 million to pay the LFP clause plus the 56% you should pay in taxes. This would be about 580 million euros.”
To put that in perspective, that’s about as much as the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars are worth.
So, enjoy some of these $770 million highlights.
