I guess that ends the drama.

Six days after Luis Suarez bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during a group stage match, four days after FIFA suspended Suarez for nine matches and for four months from any football-related activity, and two days after Suarez claimed he simply tripped and accidentally hit his teeth against Chiellini, Suarez has finally apologized and admitted to doing what we all knew he did six days ago.

The letter above was tweeted by Suarez, accompanied by the words “My apologies to Chiellini.”

If you’re like me, you’re probably a little bit skeptical of Suarez’s last point — that he won’t bite another opponent. After all, Chiellini was bite victim number three. I guess we’re going to have to wait awhile to see if there’s a fourth.

Update: Chiellini has responded to Suarez via Twitter.
