Argentina’s Javier Mascherano had a bit of a rough go during yesterday’s semifinal match against the Netherlands. In addition to Mascherano suffering an apparent head injury, turns out he also tore his anus. Yup, no jokes here.
Some unforgettable words from Mascherano: “I spread out my anus in that last tackle, that’s why I felt so much pain”

This appears to be the tackle that Mascherano is referring to:
It’s really a great tackle, preventing Robben from giving the Dutch a lead in stoppage time. Unfortunately, he had to sacrifice his anus in the process.
No word on Mascherano’s availability for the World Cup final on Sunday. Then again, I’m not really sure how long the recovery typically is for an injury of that type. Rest up Mascherano.
