When the Algeria national team produced a draw against Russia, the team also secured its spot in the knockout phase of the World Cup — the first time in the country’s history that the team has advanced past the group stage.

Rightly so, the country celebrated and partied all night long.

Unfortunately, The Guardian is now reporting that two people have died from car crashes during the celebrations and that 31 people have been injured. To make matters worse, after Algeria knocked off South Korea, 4-2, last week, five people were killed in car crashes and one suffered a fatal heart attack during the second goal.

It’s probably good that American’s don’t really care about soccer all that much. Then again, excessive and violent celebrations would probably only be an issue if the USMNT managed to win the World Cup, which even Jurgen Klinsmann knows isn’t going to happen.

Still, #ibelievethatwewillwin
