The celebration of the USWNT continues unabated. Sports Illustrated honored the World Cup-winning squad with an unprecedented 25 different covers earlier this month and now EA Sports has announced that it will have USWNT’s Alex Morgan share the cover of FIFA 16 with Lionel Messi.
Considering that FIFA 16 will be the first FIFA video game to feature women’s soccer teams for the first time, this is an entirely appropriate and welcomed announcement.
Morgan tweeted out her own humble message on being selected for the FIFA cover shortly after EA made the announcement.
I’m so honored to be featured on the cover of #FIFA16. Thank you @EASPORTSFIFA! https://t.co/vw73wtfncJ pic.twitter.com/5vp8RLUk1x
