For well over a decade, Alex Morgan has been a mainstay on the United States Women’s National Team where she helped lead the team to two consecutive World Cup titles and an Olympic gold medal. But when the team heads to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games this summer, the USWNT legend will not be on the roster.
On Wednesday afternoon, the USWNT officially released its roster for the upcoming Olympic games, and Alex Mogan was not on the roster. And she expressed her disappointment on social media.
“Today, I’m disappointed about not having the opportunity to represent our country on the Olympic stage. This will always be a tournament that is close to my heart and I take immense pride any time I put on the crest,” said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

In less than a month, I look forward to supporting this team and cheering them on alongside the rest of our country,” Morgan continued in a follow-up post.
Morgan is a legitimate legend for the USWNT and co-captained the team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. But she will now be watching the Olympics from home.
