Donald Trump thought that he would be running for president against Joe Biden, but that changed this month when Biden announced he would no longer be seeking re-election and Kamala Harris instead took up the campaign. And legendary sports personality Stephen A. Smith thinks that Harris now has Trump “running scared.”

During his YouTube show last week, Stephen A. Smith said that he thinks both Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance were “running scared” of Kamala Harris, suggesting that they know they can’t beat her in the upcoming election.

“Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are running scared,” Smith said. “And Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House, he’s running scared, too. What’s all this stuff about, ‘Legal action may be taken,’ because Biden decided to drop out of the race? … Donald Trump, I know you ain’t trying to engage in — dare I say — ‘lawfare,’ are you? Wasn’t it you that was on stage saying that the Democrats were engaging in ‘lawfare’ because they weren’t confident they could beat you straight-up in an election?”

Following Biden’s decision to pull out and Harris taking up the campaign, Trump pulled out of all the debates against the Democratic nominee, adding validity to Smith’s claims that he is “running scared.”
