Last week, United States President Joe Biden faced a pretty concerning situation when a special counsel’s report investigating his possession of classified documents found questions with Biden’s memory and cognitive ability. Biden responded with a press conference to defend his memory, but that press conference just earned more criticism from Republicans.
The report determined that Joe Biden will not face charges for mishandling classified documents, but it also described his memory as “hazy,” “fuzzy,” “faulty,” “poor” and having “significant limitations,” according to the Associated Press. Biden responded to those claims in a press conference, but a comment he made just led to more questions.
During the press conference, Biden claimed “my memory is fine,” but then went on to mistakenly refer to Egypt’s leader Abdel Fattah El-Sissi as “the president of Mexico,” leading to some criticism from Republicans.
Following Biden’s press conference, the House Committee on the Judiciary Republicans official Twitter account called out Biden with a pretty cheeky sports reference.
Joe Biden to his staff: “We need to go on offense tonight.”

“Joe Biden to his staff: ‘We need to go on offense tonight,'” the account said, before sharing a photo of the Iowa Hawkeyes football team in the huddle.
Of course, college football fans will recognize that Hawkeyes have been notoriously terrible on the offensive side of the ball in recent years under offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz, who was fired from his position after failing to make enough improvements to the offense.
It’s obviously a pretty brutal message to Biden for those who understood the reference.
