While Taylor Swift has made it clear where she stands on the 2024 presidential election, the same can’t be said for her friend, Patrick Mahomes.

And don’t expect to hear the Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback weigh in on the matter anytime soon, as he told reporters on Wednesday that he won’t be endorsing either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

“I don’t want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever, either way,” Mahomes said, per CNN. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote. It is to inform people to do their own research and then make their best decision for them and their family.

“Every time I’m on this stage and I get asked these questions, I’m going to refer back to that because I think that’s what makes America so great.”

Mahomes’ comments came just hours after Swift — who is dating Mahomes’ Chiefs teammate and good friend Travis Kelce — publicly endorsed Harris. Asked about Swfit endorsing his opponent, Trump referenced Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, who made headlines recently when she liked an Instagram post from the 45th president.

“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth. She is a big Trump fan,” Trump said. “I was not a Taylor Swift fan.”

While Brittany has yet to outright endorse Trump, many took her social media activity as a sign of support for the former star of The Apprentice. It remains to be seen whether Brittany will publicly endorse Trump, although we now know that her husband won’t be joining her if she does — nor will he be endorsing his opponent, Harris.
