Herschel Walker was a walking headline during his days running for the U.S. Senate as a representative of Georgia. Walker ultimately didn’t make it to Washington, but he’s been at work behind the scenes.
Earlier this year Walker was even spotted at a football game in the same suite as President-elect Donald Trump.
Thanks to a move that has left many people around the country stunned, it appears as if the former football star’s behind-the-scenes work has begun paying its dividends.
“Trump just picked failed Senate candidate Herschel Walker to be U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas. Yes, Herschel Walker,” reported Kyle Griffin of MSNBC.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Hulk Hogan is gonna get the last laugh on Iron Sheik when Trump makes him the Ambassador to Iran,” one person responded on Twitter.
“At first I thought this was a loyal but incompetent toady being handed a federal salary and fake job. But then you remember how much dark money moves through the Bahamas and it makes you start to wonder,” another person added.
“trump 2.0 is absolutely cementing itself as the dumbest administration in history and that’s saying something considering trump 1.0 happened,” added someone else.
“Not even inaugurated, yet already the most corrupt, conflicted President in American history,” wrote another.
It’ll be interesting to see how Walker performs in his role.
