Even though she herself is not transgender, women’s boxer Imane Khelif of Algeria sparked a debate about transgender women competing in women’s sports after was allowed to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics despite failing gender eligibility tests at the 2023 World Championships. And billionaire social media mogul Elon Musk made it very clear where he stands in the debate.

Amid the social outrage after Khelif defeated Angela Carini of Italy in just 46 seconds in the Olympics, Elon Musk offered his reacion to a post sharing a promise from Donald Trump that he would “keep men out of women’s sports,” complete with a crossed out transgender pride flag.

Musk made it very clear that he is in support of Trump on this issue.

“Good,” Musk said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Musk has announced that he will be supporting Trump in the upcoming presidential election and has endorsed many right-wing policies in recent months, so this stance is not necessarily surprising. But it still led to a lot of reactions on social media.

It’s worth reiterating, however, that Khelif is not transgender nor is she a man. She was born a woman, has identified as a woman her entire life, and has competed as a woman for years until she was suddenly disqualified from the 2023 World Championships by the International Boxing Association without due process in a highly controversial decision.
