Last week, Women’s boxer Imane Khelif of Algeria was allowed to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics despite failing gender eligibility tests at the 2023 World Championships. And even though she is not transgender and was born a biological woman, her presence at the Olympics has sparked a debate about transgender women competing in women’s sports. And billionaire Elon Musk has made it clear where he stands.

Last week, amid outrage after Khelif defeated Angela Carini of Italy when she withdrew from the fight 46 seconds in after taking two punches, Elon Musk reacted to a post sharing a promise from Donald Trump that he would “keep men out of women’s sports” with a transgender flag.

And Musk clearly did not hold back his true thoughts.

“Good,” Musk said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Musk has made it clear that he is supporting Trump in the upcoming presidential election and has endorsed many right-wing policies in recent months, so this stance is not necessarily surprising.

It’s worth reiterating, however, that Khelif is not transgender nor is she a man. She was born a woman, has identified as a woman her entire life, and has competed as a woman for years until she was suddenly disqualified from the 2023 World Championships by the International Boxing Association without due process in a highly controversial decision.
