Former president Donald Trump owns perhaps the most prestigious portfolio of golf courses in the world.
The Trump Organization has been the beneficiary of a financial relationship with LIV Golf, the Saudi Arabian government-backed league that recently merged with the PGA Tour.
LIV Golf has hosted several tournaments and championships on properties owned by Trump.
But according to a report from golf insider Bob Harig of Sports Illustrated, that lucrative arrangement could be coming to an end next year.
“It appears that LIV Golf will not be returning to any of former President Donald Trump’s properties. It played at two last year, has played at two so far this year and is scheduled to play its season-ending Team Championship next month at Trump National Doral outside of Miami,” Harig wrote Monday.
“A preliminary schedule for 2024 shows no Trump venues and the season-ending team championship is listed as ‘South Florida.’”
While the schedule is only preliminary—and would almost assuredly change if Trump recaptures the presidency in 2024—the Trump Organization undoubtedly stands to lose millions of dollars if LIV Golf does indeed move away from Trump properties.
The news would come at a bad time, too, as Trump faces 91 felony counts in four jurisdictions across America, as well as a $250 million civil fraud lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James. Those trials are set to start next year.
