Former President Donald Trump at Formula One Grand Prix John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

President-elect Donald Trump is getting ready to return to the Oval Office in January after defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the November presidential election. Never one for shyness, Trump hasn’t been afraid to let people know of his ambitious plans once he’s back in the Oval.

One plan, in particular, has left people in disbelief.

“Donald Trump announces he intends to change the name of Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America,” reported cultural critic Twitter account Pop Base on Tuesday.

People around the country reacted to the news on social media.

“So, let me get this right, instead of focusing on America’s economy, education, the middle and lower class, the unhoused, college tuition, inflation, healthcare, and foreign affairs that actually matter, he’s zeroing in on the name of a body of water? Did I forget anything?” one person wrote on Twitter.

“Trump really knows how to get under his opponents’ skin. Such a troll. It’s pretty hilarious,” another person wrote.

“Finally. Wait until we rename Canada to North America and Mexico to South America. Greenland will become Americaland,” one person added.

“he’s so racist that he can’t stand the sight of latin country name that isn’t even owned by said country,” added someone else.

It’ll be interesting to see what else Trump has planned.
