Former President Donald Trump reacts during the Pro-Am tournament Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

In something that has become quite a rarity, former President Donald Trump had a good day in court.

Trump, who was recently indicted on 37 felony counts, including obstructing an investigation, and 31 violations of the Espionage Act, found himself on the positive side of a legal decision Thursday.

Westchester County District Attorney Mimi Rocah announced that she was closing a multiyear investigation into Trump over whether he or his company misled authorities over a scheme to reduce taxes on some of his properties, including golf clubs.

Rocah said in a statement that the decision was reached after an investigation that was performed “objectively, and independent of politics, party affiliation, and personal or political beliefs.”

Rocah, who is a Democrat, started investigating Trump in 2021. Specifically, she was attempting to find out if he or Trump Organization provided misleading valuations in order to pay less taxes on his Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, which is 29 miles out of Manhattan. Rocah’s office had subpoenaed records from the golf course and the town of Ossining.

Trump, who was impeached twice and recently found liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in 1996, made a statement on Truth Social. In all caps, Trump wrote that ending the investigation was “the honorable thing to do in that I did nothing wrong, but where and when do I get my reputation back? When will the other fake cases against me be dropped?”
