Under the Joe Biden administration, transgender students were given rights and protections under Title IX, allowing them to go by their chosen pronouns, use the restrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities designated for their gender identity, and participate in sports according to their gender identity. But Donald Trump wants to change all of that.
During a recent interview on the right-wing radio show Kahal & Company, Donald Trump made it clear that he is not in support of transgender women and girls competing in sports according to their gender identity.
“A lot of things don’t make sense having to do with what they’re doing, from the border to men playing in women’s sports – the world is like a cuckoo’s nest with what they do,” Trump said.
Trump was then asked about his response to the Title IX changes that protect transgender athletes, and he made it clear that he has decided to reverse that decision “on day one” if he is elected president.
“It’s crazy. It’s crazy. We’re going to end it on day one. Don’t forget, that was done as an order from the president. That came down as an executive order. We’re going to change it on day one. On day one, it’s going to be changed – we’re going to change it. Yes, boys can go into girls’ locker rooms. The whole thing is crazy. Look, it’s like men playing in women’s sports,” Trump said.
“No, we’ll get that changed. Tell your people not to worry about it. It’ll be signed on day one – it’ll be terminated.”
This is a pretty clear statement from Trump.
