In recent weeks, it’s been revealed that transgender star swimmer Lia Thomas has made a move to challenge the current rules from World Aquatic that ban transgender athletes from competing in the women’s category. But Caitlyn Jenner, who is perhaps the most famous transgender person on the planet, seems to think she’s doing it just for attention.
During a recent appearance on the OutKick’s “Gaines For Girls” podcast with anti-trans activist Riley Gaines, Caitlyn Jenner absolutely blasted Lia Thomas, calling her a “narcissist.”
“Lia Thomas coming back, honestly, I think she’s a narcissist. I think she just wants the publicity,” Jenner told Gaines according to Fox News. “I think she was virtually a nobody.”
Jenner claimed that Thomas is petitioning for eligibility for “publicity,” not because she actually wants to be able to compete.
“Well, for the last six, nine months, I really haven’t heard much about her ever since the Olympic Committee came out and basically said, ‘You’re not eligible,’” Jenner said. “Now, she’s trying to fight that, and I think she’s doing it for the publicity. I don’t know any other reason why she should.”
Jenner pointed out that Thomas only became popular after she won a national championship in swimming as a transgender woman – beating Gaines. And now, she’s “getting followers all over the place.” Jenner seems to think that she’s trying to milk the publicity.
“Nobody knew of her until she was beating your butt and got into women’s swimming,” Jenner said. “Then, all of a sudden, she was on the covers of magazines, and she’s just living up all the pressure. She’s getting clicks all over the place. She’s getting followers all over the place to see what this story is.”
