Brittany Mahomes surprised many earlier this month when she liked an Instagram post of Donald Trump’s, seemingly indicating her support for the 45th president’s candidacy in the 2024 election.
The post in question came on Aug. 13 and saw Trump reveal the Republican Party’s platform for the 2024 election. The post includes lines such as “stop the migrant crime epidemic, demolish the foreign drug cartels, crush gang violence, and lock up violent offenders” as well as “keep men OUT of women’s sports.”
Weeks later, social media users discovered that Brittany Mahomes, the wife of NFL superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, had liked the post. The Mahomes family has remained quiet about its politics in the past, but many took Brittany’s social media activity as an endorsement of Trump.

Amid the backlash, Brittany Mahomes took to her Instagram stories to address her critics. And while she didn’t directly address whether she, in fact, supports Trump, many believe she was referencing the criticism she has received for liking the post.
“I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood,” she wrote. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”
