Anti-transgender activist Riley Gines has made a cottage industry of peddling her conservative views on transgender participation in women’s sports.
Gaines has never been scared to share her opinion, which she did during a Friday night appearance on Fox News’ Primetime with Jessee Watters. Gaines is taking issue with Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who was born a woman and is participating in women’s boxing at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Gaines thinks Vice President Kamala Harris should opine on the controversy.
“Crickets from Kamala, crickets from the women at ‘The View.’ And if I could implore you, a vote for Kamala is a vote against your daughter’s future,” Gaines told Watters.
“I see lots of people on social media saying they’ll be voting for Kamala because she is a woman. Well, let me tell you, Jesse, I will be voting for Trump because I am a woman.”
Gaines shot to fame after tying Lia Thomas, a transgender woman, for fifth place at the 2021 NCAA women’s swimming national championships. After earning her undergraduate degree at Kentucky, Gaines originally planned to attend dental school but instead pivoted toward fanning the flames of America’s ongoing cultural wars.
Gaines hosts her own podcast, Gaines for Girls, as well as contributing to the conservative sports website Outkick the Coverage.
