Russia took on Finland in an Olympics ice hockey quarterfinals showdown on Wednesday, and Russian English-language newspaper The Moscow News decided to celebrate the big game by live tweeting it for their thousands of followers.
Unfortunately for Russia and The Moscow News, the hometown boys failed to perform and wound up losing 3-1 to the Fins. This led to a slow and painful (yet hilarious) meltdown by the TMN’s Twitter. Check out the timeline:

Partly cloudy here in Moscow. Spring is coming. Or a false spring. Or something. We're just distracting ourselves with the weather. #hockey
