11. Slopestyle Skiing / Snowboarding
The Sochi games have introduced longtime X-Games event slopestyle to the Olympic schedule and man it’s been entertaining – so far being the most successful spot for Americans in these entire Olympics. Not only is slopestyle entertaining, this particular course features 3 consecutive big air jumps to separate the competitors at this elite level.
American Sage Kotsenburg stomped down a 1620 (!!!) Japan Air Mute Grab to win gold. That’s 4 ½ complete spins with some crazy grabs for good measure. It was a trick he had never landed before but this Olympic course provided the opportunity. Onions.
