13. Ski and Snowboard Cross
As far as races go, ski and snowboard cross provide some of the most exciting ones. Unlike short track speed skating where you have a lot of races that are paced depending on length, ski and snowboard cross races are a blast right out of the gate – typically involving a couple of quick jumps while all 4 racers are still side by side. It’s racing slalom style with jumps and surrounded by others. I get nervous when someone comes within 15 feet of me when I snowboard – much less what these guys and gals pull off while airborne.
