18. Bobsled (4 Man) – Not The Pilot Nor Brakeman
Bobsled is awesome, and steering one of those bad boys down a path that looks impossibly narrow looks really hard (I can barely back out of my garage without losing my mirrors everyday). But I’ll get to that in a second. The easiest job in the Winter Games has to be being a ‘pusher’ in the 4-man bobsleigh. You push for 4-5 seconds, you duck and hide your eyes for 85 or so more, you pump your fists. What a gig!
I do wonder if any of them become like those enthusiastic bench players on college basketball teams. You know…only play for a small amount of time, but can wave a towel like no one’s business. I gotta think if I was guy #2 right behind the pilot, I’d be all sorts of a motivational speaker. If Mario Chalmers was an Olympian, he’d definitely be a pusher while taking all of the credit.
