3. Downhill skiing
No Olympic sport is as dangerous as downhill skiing (I think). With speeds over 80 MPH going straight downhill, any loss of control can turn into a violent high-speed crash. To makes things even harder, Olympic downhill courses feature multiple jumps that was sending Sochi racers flying over 200 feet. Staying on line and sticking those landings is unbelievably physically taxing.
If anything, sometimes I don’t know if I am more impressed with the athletes or the ski manufacturers who are able to produce sticks that can handle this kind of punishment.
