Alexander Ryazantsev, a defenseman in the KHL, just set the world record for hardest hit puck at the 2012 KHL All-Star Game Skill Competition in Riga, Latvia on Saturday.
The Traktor Chelyabinsk player’s shot clocked in at 114.127 mph which beat the previous record held by Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins at 105.9 mph. That is one heck of a way to take over the top spot.
