Twitter is blowing up with reports that the Toronto Maple Leafs have fired their President and General Manager, Brian Burke. For the five years that Burke was in charge, the Leafs failed to make the playoffs and certainly made some questionable decisions (Phil Kessel trade, anyone?). Regardless, the timing of this decision is strange to say the least. Why now? I mean, it’s January and the Leafs are undefeated.
The Leafs are holding a press conference at 1:45ET where I’m sure a more detailed explanation will be given. In more important news, Scott Howson still has a job.
