It was announced Wednesday morning that Bruins defenseman Torey Krug would miss 2-3 weeks of action after suffering a broken finger during Tuesday night’s game against the Minnesota Wild in Boston. Krug suffered the injury after being slashed by Wild forward Zach Parise while taking a point shot late in the third period.

While the term ‘broken finger’ doesn’t sound particularly grizzly – and the recovery period doesn’t seem all that bad – at least not until you see a photo of the apparent damage. Krug appeared to be pretty lucky to escape a ‘severed finger’ classification.

CSNNE’s Joe Haggerty was the first to report that Krug had a portion of his pinky finger sliced off as a result of the slash, then shared a photo (tweeted out by former NHLer Brett Harkins of the apparent damage. The photo’s legitimacy has yet to be confirmed, but if you’re feeling some morbid curiosity, it sits below. You probably shouldn’t look at it.

No, seriously…don’t look at it.

I’m warning you.

Don’t.

Fine, but I warned you.

Last chance to turn back…

Okay, here:

You should have listened, idiot.
