Russia is currently facing off against Slovenia to open their tournament in Sochi, and it took hometown hero Alex Ovechkin just over a minute to score his first beautiful goal of the Winter Games. Ovechkin wristed a gorgeous snipe just inside the post to give the Russians an early lead.
Evgeni Malkin followed up with a nice goal of his own soon after.
