The San Jose Sharks visited Los Angeles on Wednesday night to open their season against the Kings, the same team that overcame a 3-0 series deficit against San Jose on their way to winning the Stanley Cup last season.
While it wasn’t exactly “revenge,” the Sharks did manage to kick off their 2014-2015 campaign on a great note, beating LA 4-0 on their home ice. Forward Tommy Wingels came out of the gate hot, scoring two impressive goals on Kings goalie Jonathan Quick in the victorious effort.
Wingels’ first (above) came from a nearly impossible angle, ripping a wrister above Quick’s shoulder while basically camped on top of the goal line:
The second came on a breakaway chance, which Wingels took full advantage of thanks to some sick moves:
He’s certainly set the bar pretty high for himself to start this season.
