It looks like the 2016 Winter Classic is going to be the sharpest dressed New Year’s Day game the NHL has ever put on. The Montreal Canadiens just unveiled their sweater for the game against their arch rival Boston Bruins at Gillette Stadium on January 1st.
Like the Bruins’ sweater, it is a throwback and uses a different collar than what is normally on the typical uniform. The blue used in the color scheme is not the normal blue but a lighter blue used in the team’s early years. The Habs also placed the Winter Classic logo inside the stripes on the sleeves instead of the shoulders where it is traditionally located.
