If there is one thing that sports teams have proved, it’s that putting together a ‘Mean Tweets’ segment should be fairly easy.
One needs only to follow a game of ANY sport on Twitter to see the term “garbage” thrown around more often than it would in any actual non-trash scenario.
The Cowboys did it. The Indians did it fairly recently as well.
For Social Media Night on April 1st (perfect, really), the Anaheim Ducks posted their own ‘Harsh Tweets’ clip featuring the team’s players reading “hilarious” insults about them that supposedly originated from the web. The only problem? None of those tweets actually exist according to The Royal Half.
C’mon Ducks fans. The only reasonable response to this is to show the Ducks’ social media team that you can come up with LOTS of mean tweets about your favorite players. Shame on you for making them actually come up with insults for their own players. That is the sacred right of every Ducks fan on Twitter. Show them how it’s done y’all.
