The NHL is a dangerous sport, so much so that the players can find ways to injure themselves badly even during warm-ups. Taylor Hall of the Edmonton Oilers slipped on a puck and fell into teammate Corey Potter during warm-ups at Nationwide Arena in Columbus. The end result was Hall taking Potter’s blade to his face and leaving a fairly deep cut right above his eye. I am always confused to why masks aren;t mandatory in the NHL, and this is another example of why the NHL should institute that mandate. TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported that it took nearly 30 stitches to close up Taylor Hall’s cut over his eye and he was unable to play in the game.
