Sidney Crosby had a rough night at the office on Tuesday night as the Penguins took on the Carolina Hurricanes. Not only did the Pens fall to the Canes 4-1, but Crosby also took a beating in the process.
First, Crosby was smacked in the face by a linesman (GIF above) after coming off the bench during a line change in the first period. Neither party saw it coming and it was purely unintentional, but it was hilarious nonetheless. Sid made sure to sell the call.
Then, Manny Malhotra attempted to perform a unique birth control procedure on Sid later in the game when he managed to stick the Penguins’ captain right in the nuts with his lumber after a faceoff. As you’d expect, Sid went down like a sack of bricks. Didn’t look like it felt good.
On a more positive note for Crosby, he recorded his 100th point of the season – the fifth time he’s had at least 100 points in his career.
