According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, Nashville Predators star defenseman Shea Weber has agreed to a 14-year offer sheet with the Philadelphia Flyers that is worth upwards of $100 million. The Predators have 7 days to match that offer or they will be heading into next season without their captain and best player. Earlier this month, they lost a key component of their defense when Ryan Suter signed with the Minnesota Wild. If the Predators can’t find a way to lock down Weber, it could mean big problems for the franchise. They would receive as many as four draft picks from the Flyers as compensation, which in reality, is not a great trade-off. If I were a Preds fan, I would be VERY nervous this week.
