The Eerie Otters closed out their regular season in the OHL with an 8-7 win over the Niagara IceDogs yesterday, their 50th W of the season. Otters forward and Sabres prospect Nick Baptiste scored a gorgeous goal in the second period of the contest after taking a long breakout pass from teammate Darren Raddysh.
Baptiste showed some incredible patience before ultimately dangling a few IceDogs defenders and tucking the puck into the back of the net for the great shorthanded goal. The goal gave the 19-year old Baptiste a grand total of 24 in 40 games for the Otters this season, which should Sabres fans pretty excited. They’d be even more excited if they could land Baptiste’s Otters teammate and top hockey prospect Connor McDavid this summer, though.
