Chicago Blackhawks prospect Ryan Hartman saw his first NHL action on Friday night against the New Jersey Devils. It didn’t take him very long to make an impact, and a very violent impact at that.
On his very first shift in The Show, the 20-year old Hartman – a 2013 first round pick – lit up Devils forward Dainius Zubrus while going for a loose puck in open ice. Zubrus – listed at 6’5, 225 – is a pretty large specimen and the force of Hartman’s impact was so heavy that Zubrus’ helmet popped clean off.
That’s certainly one way to announce your arrival.
