Steve Kozari is just a few days removed from taking a puck to the face in Boston this past weekend, but he was back on the ice wearing a gnarly shiner along with his stripes Tuesday night.
As you can see in the video above, Kozari took a Dougie Hamilton clearing attempt off the left cheekbone during Game 5 of the Bruins-Red Wings series in Boston on Saturday. After collapsing to the ice in pain, Kozari went off for repairs but returned to the game shortly thereafter, because it’s not just hockey players who are tough during the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Kozari returned to duty for Game 6 of the Flyers-Rangers series in Philadelphia on Tuesday, and his eye looked like this:
Yikes, that’s brutal. At least the man’s got a solid excuse if he happens to miss or screw up a call, amirite?
