The NHL announced their official rule changes for the upcoming season on Thursday, and that list includes the following:
That means you’ll no longer be seeing moves like the one in the video embedded at the top of this post, most likely because they’re almost impossible for goaltenders to stop without tearing every muscle in their groin and they give referees fits when trying to determine forward motion of the puck.
But the outlawing of spin-o-rama’s will likely come as a disappointment for hockey fans, most of whom don’t exactly like the shootout even with the fun stuff that occasionally comes with it.
