The New York Rangers victory over the Washington Capitals in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals was no easy feat. 15 minutes into the THIRD overtime, Marian Gaborik scored the game winner to put an end to his 8-game goal drought and give the Rangers a 2-1 lead in the series.
In 9 of 10 playoff games this season, the Washington Capitals have either won or lost by only 1 goal, and half of them have needed to be settled in overtime. The game lasted a total of 115 minutes and required every last bit of energy from the players. Hats off to all of them for being able to hang in there for so long, but most importantly to the two goaltenders Braden Holtby and Henrik Lundqvist who were OUTSTANDING, making 47 and 45 saves, respectively. This had to be a tough loss for the Caps.
Game 4 will be in Washington on Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm EST
