As the 2012 Stanley Cup Champions, the L.A. Kings made their visit to the White House today along with the MLS Champs, the L.A. Galaxy. President Obama was naturally a little bitter about the Kings 5-4 victory over his hometown Chicago Blackhawks last night, but he congratulated the Kings regardless on their incredible Cup run, and posed for photographs with his personalized # 44 jersey.
The real entertainment, however, came from none other than Dustin Penner’s twitter account. Penner decided to take a little jab at former Boston Bruins goaltender, Tim Thomas, who decided to skip out on his team’s visit to the White House last year because he is just a jerk like that was “exercising his right as a free citizen.” Here’s what Penner had to say about the situation:
