This morning’s PSA is courtesy of Stephen Lordo who plays for the St. Louis University High hockey team. After Stephen scored a game -winner to lead his school to their first state championship, he got a little over zealous and accidentally (?) launched his stick while celebrating (blade first as Puck Daddy notes), into the crowd. Fortunately there were no serious injuries, as the result could have been much worse.
STLToday.com gives a little more context on the actual game:
In spite of being outshot 28-16, the Junior Billikens managed to earn a 2-1 overtime win over rival and defending champion CBC.
“The whole year, we had one thing in mind and that was to make history, and we’ve done it,” senior forward Stephen Lordo said. “That’s the greatest thing we could have brought to the school — its first state championship.”
