In case you missed it, Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf had to leave the ice during Game 1 of the Ducks-Stars series after taking a Tyler Seguin slap shot directly to the face in the game’s final seconds.
The puck appeared to strike Getzlaf around the mouth, where he began to bleed pretty profusely before heading to the locker room for repairs. He managed to escape serious damage but, as to be expected, he’s not looking too hot one day later. Getzlaf’s brother, Chris, shared this photo on Twitter Thursday:
That doesn’t look like too much fun, but something tells me he’ll be back on the ice for Game 2.
