Despite scoring two goals, Evgeni Malkin’s night against the Red Wings had a rough ending on Thursday. Not only did the Penguins fall to Detroit in an overtime nailbiter, Malkin was also butt-ended right in the groin by David Legwand after getting tied up with Legwand near the Wings’ net towards the end of regulation.
Legwand was ejected from the game as a result of the dirty play, but I’m sure that didn’t make Malkin’s junk feel any better after getting speared. From the looks of things, it was extremely painful for Malking but – to his credit – he was able to stay in the game.
I would have spent the entirety of OT icing my balls in the locker room, but I guess that’s why I’m not a professional hockey player.
