According to the Czech paper iSport, former NHL’er Jiri Hudler is accused of threatening a flight attendant while demanding cocaine on a flight from New York to Prague. The newspaper reports the 33-year-old Hudler asked a flight attendant for cocaine, and when he was told that would be illegal, he allegedly threatened her by saying his friends would have her killed when they arrived in Prague. Initially, the flight attendant believed that “coke” was a reference to soda, and not the drug, but allegedly then specifically asked for the drug.
The Delta Airlines flight staff also accused Hudler of doing cocaine in the airplane bathroom and attempting to relieve himself on a food cart. In a statement to another Czech publication, Hudler denied the accusations. Another passenger on the flight said that Hudler appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Hudler currently is an unrestricted free agent after scoring three goals and 11 points in 32 games last season with the Dallas Stars. Hudler won the Lady Byng trophy (for gentlemanly conduct) with the Calgary Flames in 2014-15 when the Flames reached the second round of the postseason. He also won the Stanley Cup with the Red Wings in 2007-08.
