Flyers terrifying new mascot gets knocked down and gets up again

Gritty is having a tough time.

The new mascot for the Philadelphia Flyers, who’s sure to terrify your children, took the ice for his first game during the team’s matchup against the Boston Bruins. In an effort to fire up the crowd, Gritty shot t-shirts out of a cannon. Unfortunately for the mascot, it knocked him right off his feet.

Kudos to Gritty for taking the fall like a champ. He personifies true grit, as he got back up and kept performing.

It’s got to be tough for Gritty at the moment. His reveal drew overwhelmingly negative responses online and now, in his first shot to entertain the people, he eats ice almost immediately.

Don’t worry Gritty, the only way to go is up from here. Unless they replace you.
