If you were looking for Mikhail Grabovski on the ice during the Capitals’ game against the Minnesota Wild this weekend, you might have had a tough time finding him. However, if you were looking for Mikhail Grabovsky (whoever that is) then you may have had better luck.
For the second time this season, Washington’s equipment team spelt the Russian forward’s name wrong on the back of his jersey. Either he didn’t notice or didn’t have a spare sweater because he wound up playing the whole game with the spelling error on his back.
Just a month ago, Grabovski also fell victim to the same spelling error before a game against Carolina – his jersey in warmups featured the y instead of i. However, that mistake was quickly corrected and Grabo got a new nameplate in time for the game.
